Permeable pavement, also known as porous or pervious pavement, is a hard surface that allows water to infiltrate the ground. It improves water quality by filtering rainwater and reduces stormwater runoff volume. Additionally, permeable pavement helps keep areas cool in the summer, making it an excellent choice for managing runoff in highly paved regions. However, due to its unique properties, certain activities, such as those shown below, are prohibited on permeable pavements:
