Current Projects

Clintonville 2 (Nothern Clintonville) is the third Clintonville neighborhood to begin Blueprint implementation. Clintonville 2 is divided into five project areas: Croswell / Beaumont, Old Beechwold, Leland / Highfield, Jeffrey / Sellers, and Charleston / Kahawha.

NEW for Fall 2025: Mainline and *limited* residential lateral lining is now underway across the Clintonville 2 project area. For this limited scope lining project, residential sanitary laterals (the pipe connecting individual sanitary sewers to the city sewers) are being lined at the same time as the sanitary sewer mains. Impacted residents were notified with a letter mailed in late September. This service is provided for all impacted residents.

For all other Clintonville 2 Neighbors: Residential lateral lining is scheduled to begin in 2029 in conjunction with green infrastructure installation.

Clintonville 2 Project Schedule

Phase 1

Surveying: 2025-2026

Surveyors are in the neighborhood to document water flow patterns, topography, existing utilities, and other residential infrastructure, such as downspouts.

Phase 2

Green Infrastructure Design: 2026-2027

The engineering team identifies the types and locations of green infrastructure that will meet the needs of the neighborhood. During the design phase, we seek resident feedback through surveys, public meetings, and field visits.

Phase 3

Shovels in the Ground: 2027

Construction of green infrastructure involves work in the public right-of-way and street. All neighborhood residents will be notified of anticipated impacts, and Blueprint will send out weekly construction updates to keep everyone informed of the schedule and activities.

Green Infrastructure Construction & Stream Restoration: 2029-2035

Rain gardens and porous pavement sites are installed. During this time other city infrastructure work may occur, such as waterline upgrades or sidewalk installations.

Mainline Lining: 2027-2030

This mainline lining (work to seal the main sewer lines on your streets) directly reduces water infiltration and inflow (I/I) into sanitary sewers. Over time, pipes can develop cracks and leaks, allowing rainwater to enter sanitary sewers, filling them beyond their capacity. Overwhelming the system can create a sewage overflow into rivers or back-ups into basements. The lining process quickly replaces an old pipe with minimal impact within the construction area.

Lateral Lining: 2029-2031

Individual homes are assessed for lateral lining and roofwater redirection. These home improvements prevent stormwater from entering the sanitary sewer lines by getting that water away from your home and out to the street, so it can drain to the storm sewer system

Sump Pumps: 2029-2031

All homes in the project area are eligible to receive a sump pump if residents do not have one, or if the current pump is in disrepair. Visit our sump pump project page to learn more.
